Police Region North is the largest region in terms of area. The region consists of the four northernmost counties in Sweden and is organized into four police areas: Jämtland, Norrbotten, Västerbotten, and Västernorrland, which together are divided into 12 local police areas. Furthermore, there are three regional units: the operational unit, the intelligence unit, and the investigation unit, a regional office, and national departments that are represented in the region to support police operations.
The positions refer to a summer temporary employment during the period from June to August, starting as agreed. There may be a possibility of extension for hours before/after the summer period.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The employees within the police authority's service office are the face of the police and often the first contact for the public - an important point of contact. The operation is both an authority exercise and a service function with availability for both external and internal service. Serving as an administrator within the police's service office is a significant job in strengthening trust in police operations by having commitment, quality, and security in handling cases combined with efficiency and a pleasant demeanor.
As an administrator within the police's service office, you will have an important role within the framework of the police's service mission. Main job responsibilities:
- Process passport and identity card applications
Other common job tasks may include:
- Receive and register reports from the public
- Handle lost property
- Release seized items
- Receive permits and surrendered weapons
- Additional tasks may arise as the inflow of cases can vary greatly.
A prerequisite for you to start working as an administrator at the service office is that you are approved and certified in the mandatory internal training that begins in the first two weeks. The training will take place digitally and through supervision. Working hours are primarily scheduled during the day; however, evening work and weekend work may occur as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
This is an opportunity for you who have:
- High school diploma or equivalent knowledge acquired in another way
- Very good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both spoken and written
- Good ability to express yourself in English, both spoken and written
- Good computer skills and ease in learning new IT systems
It is an advantage if you also have:
- Ongoing or completed higher education that the employer deems relevant, such as law, criminology, or political science programs
- Current experience working in a reception or other relevant work experience in service with many external direct contacts in the form of personal meetings that the employer deems relevant
- Current experience working within the Police Authority or another government agency that the employer deems relevant
- Experience handling legal documents
- Knowledge/skills regarding police data systems such as RES, lost property, and Durtvå

As an administrator in our service office, you are the police's face to the public and are expected to work with commitment, availability, and efficiency. As the pace of work varies, we believe that you are a person who thrives and is driven by this, while it does not affect your accuracy or customer interaction. We also believe that you have a service-oriented and flexible approach as well as good collaboration skills. Since the work is outward-facing and involves daily contact with people, we place great importance on your communication skills. We also see that you are responsible and self-driven as a person.
